No-Fault Insurance.
A system of compensation for automobile accidents which requires indemnification to be made by the insured's own insurance company instead of the insurer of another driver who may be at fault.
Legal liability or fault is not usually determined, unless injuries exceed a specified threshold, in which case legal action is permitted.
Designed to reduce the number of lawsuits, no-fault automobile insurance is required by law in many states.
